The participation of students of Design of the most important national institutions in this initiative has been varied and dynamic are the numbers to confirm this: 80 entries, 37 projects and five finalists came from schools and faculties of Italy's most prestigious jury analyzed by the exceptional quality. All projects had in common a remarkable creativity as well as a very versatile design, despite the technical limitations under the ban, imposed by the more sophisticated production techniques working glass. Convivium Firenze, in collaboration with IVV - Industria Vetraria Valdarnese and EX3 Centre for Contemporary Art, has launched successfully, a special "challenge" to talk about the art of receiving, with a careful look at contemporary and the world of creativity that increasingly accompanies the work of the best catering.
The competition included two facets of the project: a custom glass CONVIVIUM FLORENCE, to be produced which will be used exclusively in the best opportunities and banqueting an 'other version, for the general public and included in the catalog of the collections IVV. The winning project involves the construction of a first prototype by the end of December 2010.
The realization of the object respond to some specific technical parameters, defined in the contract, including the fact that the glass must be made crystal glass bio colorless, transparent and printed format.
