The Honorary President of the Foundation for the Protection of the Territory of the Chianti Classico Onlus is expressed on the recent decision of the Regional Council prohibiting the installation of photovoltaic systems in large protected areas. With the proposed
Delber on "preliminary identification of areas unsuitable (...) To install photovoltaic systems on the ground on 13 December, the Regional Council of Tuscany has taken a firm position on the need to regulate the installation of photovoltaic systems for large (greater than 200 kw) at a value as "areas DOP, DOC, DOCG and PGI.
The Honorary President of the Foundation for the Protection of the Territory of the Chianti Classico Onlus, Cav. Lapo Mazzei, intervenes in the debate that animates this topic recently:
"The energy shortage and the need to combat pollution have placed the emphasis on the need for renewable energy production through the use sun, wind and biomass.
While we think this a good thing and absolutely necessary, we want to emphasize that the same environmental sensitivity must take the need for systems that do not spoil the natural heritage of our country, a legacy in which the portion of the agricultural landscape is of utmost importance.
The proliferation of photovoltaic systems in some cases through facilities that include relevant areas covered, brought out operations that run counter to the defense of the landscape, which is essential for the development and strengthening of the agricultural sector.
A landscape that must not remain static, but dynamic in accordance with the guidelines of production: the transformation of energy solar structures are different shapes and sizes, as well as their placement are possible alternative solutions, such as roofs of industrial facilities, squares, non-agricultural land, unused quarries. Surfaces that can make up for the application without adversely affecting the agricultural heritage.
why the Foundation for the Protection of the Territory of the Chianti Classico can not but welcome the recent draft resolution setting out the areas where it is prohibited indiscriminate installation of photovoltaic systems. A decision which we believe can also be an incentive for producers and distributors of these new devices to a deeper awareness of where and how these valuable tools should be placed. "
